Charity Bikes
What is it? How can you help? You can read more about it here.
Here's a little info, Charity Bikes is a SoPo program started in January 2011 where SoPo would fix some bikes and donate them to a non-profit or charitable organization. You can help by fixing bikes or donating to the program. You can also help by letting us know of potential partners for Charity Bikes. And if you are a non-profit/charitable organization and are interested in getting a bike donation, let us know. E-mail us at info@sopobikes.org.

Bike Maintenance 101: Basic Repairs//Bike-In Movie
Hey everyone,
This Monday at 7PM is our next Bike Maintenance 101 Class on Basic Repairs. Come out and learn quick tricks and advice on how to make minor and basic repairs. Trust me, they add up! Before you know it, you'll be wrenching like the professionals. Suggested donation $5-$10. After the class we'll be riding from Sopo to Javalords in Little Five Points for the Bike-In Movie. We'll be watching The Greatest Show on Earth.
"Eddy Merckx The Cannibal Belgian superstar, Eddy Merckx, is arguably the greatest cyclist the world has ever known, so much so that his dominating career through the 1970s continues to overshadow the achievements of today’s bicycling supermen. Merckx won just about every race that was worth winning – including 7 victories in Liège-Bastogne-Liège, 3 wins in Paris-Roubaix, and 2 victories in the Tour of Flanders. He was a World Champion no less than 3 times and won both the Giro d’Italia and Tour de France an incredible 5 times each! Merckx’s amazing Hour Record ride in 1972 stood for 14 years.
The Greatest Show on Earth is a brilliant documentary of the 1974 Giro d’Italia, from the opening sequence of the Pope blessing the riders to Merckx’s battle to win his fifth Giro by a mere 12 seconds. "

We can do it! You can Help! Here's a way to get started:
SoPo Needs A New Home
Dear Friends,
Sopo is currently seeking a new home! Our shop has been housed in a small space in East Atlanta Village for the last five years, but we now face an imminent move. As of April of 2012, we will no longer be located at 465-C Flat Schoals Ave. Although we have had the luxury of low rent since our founding, we anticipate increased costs with a new space, thus we are writing to ask your support for our first ever SOPO RENT FUND.
We are committed to continuing to serve our loyal local community, and we are looking for roughly the same amount of space (or more) as our current home. We would love your ideas and input, so please direct all inquires or info to space@lists.scehardt.com
Sopo Bicycle Cooperative is a community bicycle repair shop whose mission is to create equitable access to bicycling by providing affordable bicycle maintenance services and education. We volunteers hold Sopo's core values and close to our heart. In order to maintain our truly affordable services as well as our many fabulous programs, we are asking you consider Sopo this holiday season. Please help us keep growing the flock!
