Help Keep Sopo's Wheels Turning

Tucked back in EAV, a shop full of wrenches and spare parts is the homebase for one co-op that's trying to make it easier to swap out your four wheels for two. Sopo Bicycle Cooperative is a non-profit bike repair shop, where the Atlanta cycling community can donate parts and tools, fix their bikes, and help others do the same, in an effort to give easier access to cycling for all. The organization also provides programs for youngsters, bike rack installation for local businesses, and participates in the Earn-A-Bike program at the Taskforce for the Homeless.

You can help by fixing bikes or donating to the program. You can also help by letting us know of potential partners for Charity Bikes. And if you are a non-profit/charitable organization and are interested in getting a bike donation, let us know. E-mail us at info@sopobikes.org. Read full story>>

News: SoPo Needs A New Home

Dear Friends,

Sopo is currently seeking a new home! Our shop has been housed in a small space in East Atlanta Village for the last five years, but we now face an imminent move. As of April of 2012, we will no longer be located at 465-C Flat Schoals Ave. Although we have had the luxury of low rent since our founding, we anticipate increased costs with a new space, thus we are writing to ask your support for our first ever SOPO RENT FUND.

We are committed to continuing to serve our loyal local community, and we are looking for roughly the same amount of space (or more) as our current home. We would love your ideas and input, so please direct all inquires or info to space@lists.scehardt.com

Sopo Bicycle Cooperative is a community bicycle repair shop whose mission is to create equitable access to bicycling by providing affordable bicycle maintenance services and education. We volunteers hold Sopo's core values and close to our heart. In order to maintain our truly affordable services as well as our many fabulous programs, we are asking you consider Sopo this holiday season. Please help us keep growing the flock!

Want to Donate!

My donation of: will help raise money for the SoPo Rent Fund!
