Thanks for 2009
5 years ago, and I quote, "some folks had a meeting about a bar napkin idea that had something to do with sharing a crank puller." And this is where we stand today, in the heart of East Atlanta, filled with people who want to help and bike. So in 2009 let's sum it up, there were probably 4000+ visits to the shop, about 1600+ unique shop visitors, and over 5600 volunteer hours. In 2010, don't forget to sign in so we can really see how big of an impact SoPo is on the community. As 2009 closes...
There was a lot that happened in 2009. We went through some growth and learned what the shop was all about. We went back to our roots and stuck with what we do best. Friends have moved and left at the shop their legacy, memories, and laughs. New friends, volunteers and visitors alike, have come in with ideas, energy, and more laughs.
From the first BikeBke SE, to Broken Hearts, to our summertime youth program, the IRC, shop classes, cyclocross, Women and Trans nights, many days and nights at the shop, volunteers, visitors, and beyond; thank you for 2009. We look forward to 2010. Happy New Year!
