Bike Touring Essentials Needed for Social Justice Bike Journey

Friend of Sopo and community organizing superstar Paris Hatcher is heading off to the West Coast to join the Spoke N' Heart Bike Collective, a women's bike tour that explores empowerment and social justice along the way (7/3 - 7/20).  Paris needs a few essentials for her tour, and if we can help her out, she'll put the Sopo logo on her gear, send us a love note from the road, and othewise spread joy about us.  And it would be nice to support her anyway since she does such great work with Spark Reproductive Justice Now!  If you can help, Paris needs the follow items (drop them off at Sopo and let us know it's for her):

  • 2 panniers
  • Bike rack (to attach the panniers to her bicycle - must be capable of supporting at least 50 pounds of weight)
  • 2 Tire patch kit (patch kit should come with patches, glue and sandpaper. Don’t buy a glue-less patch kit)
  • 2 One liter bicycle water bottles
  • 3 Bungee cords of assorted size
  • 1 Durable bicycle cable lock
  • 1 Three liter water hydration pack (Camelbak or Platypus are two name brands)
  • Bike Shorts
  • Cycling computer (for tracking mileage - Cateye is one brand)
  • Rear-view mirror
